The new design 7lb splitting maul incorporates a more compact head, with a concave-wedge shape to the blade, and wider body to give more “pop” to the split.
The head is balanced from front to back, with a slightly tapered poll that can be used to “finish” a split, without having to drive the blade back into the opened split, potentially driving it further into a splitting stump or into the ground.
These design features make it a better splitting maul, as it is more ergonomically balanced, safer, and a more efficient and productive tool to use.
