Council Tool Pulaski Axe FSS

Combination axe blade on one end and a mattock blade for digging or grubbing on the other end. Forged steel head, heat treated working ends produce fine grain structure and RC 53-58 Rockwell hardness value for safety, edge holding and toughness. Body coated with black enamel and the cutting edges in clear lacquer to deter rust. Hand sharpened, single bit edge and mattock blade. Top grade double bit American hickory handle, with eye section dried to below 10% moisture content to minimise shrinkage and axe head hydraulically seated onto handle with a serrated PVC wedge. FSS version - produced in accordance with US Forest Service Specification 5100-355E. Total length 0.9m with 11cm wide axe head and 8cm wide mattock head. Weight 2.5kg.
